THE NO-CHAIR IS THE RESULT OF PURSUIT OF “OPENNESS FOR INTERPRETATION” IN DESIGN.
Design goes beyond the intentions of its designer, opening up to new interpretations through unexpected interactions with the user. This project intends to question the possible outcomes of designers consciously acknowledging the future subversions of their creations. It aims to enable the user to be a part of the continuing design process.
This project has been very self contradictory. Even to create something open for interpretation, I considered the possible uses. In the journey I began with questioning the designers role, to give more freedom to the user, I very vividly felt my presence as a designer.
I'm sure this is not the only path to try and reach an Open Object. It is one of the ways.
The No-Chair is open for interpretation.
ENJOY MUSIC WHILE KEEPING AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS, USE MUSIC AS A BELL.
Micro Boombox is a speaker designed specifically for Micro Scooter. As a light-hearted look into the issue of scooters becoming widely accepted and used by adults, it's inspired by the young spirited scooter users, and the guy that travels by the Canal with his boombox on his bicycle.
Micro Boombox offers a fun and safe way for scooters to be a part of daily life. It looks into coexistence on the pavement, focusing both on scooter users and pedestrians. It enables the user to enjoy music while keeping her aware of her surroundings, helping the other people notice the scooter.
The buttons are designed to provide an undistracted scooter ride and music experience. The bell function, which distorts your music, can be used when there is need for extra warning. The silicon strap allows the speaker to be easily mounted on and off the scooter.
Micro Boombox aims to bring joy to the scooter user and the others that share the same street.
