the waiting ticket
NO MORE WAITING AROUND: A TICKET THAT TELLS YOU WHEN YOUR TURN WILL COME WITHOUT HAVING TO REMAIN IN THE WAITING AREA.
A solution to all your long hours of waiting in queues at hospitals, tables at restaurants, and even your delayed flights at airports.
Encapsulated within an EVA skin, its main components include a flexible printed circuit with rechargeable batteries, a RFID tag, and an e-ink display with the top half indicating how much time you have left until your turn in real time, and the bottom half to be used as a platform for ads, information, and even a touch sensor.
The tickets are designed to run on low power to be charged continuously through its RFID tags and can be flexed into bracelets, tags, and bookmarks.
This was a client project with Cambridge University's EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Large Area Electronics.
