“Social Changes / Drugs Legalisation” Postage Stamp Collection, 2016
THE EXPLORATION OF THE POTENTIAL TO INFUSE CRIMINAL MINDSETS INTO DESIGN THINKING, TO RE-EVALUATE OUR COGNITION TOWARDS CRIME AND CREATIVITY.
Humans are the combination of two extremes, one side is always followed by another, yet we constantly choose to ignore the grey areas that structured this structure of civilisation. Could there be a grey area that has the equilibrium of ‘white’ and ‘black’ force?
These postage stamps contain 6 types of recreational drugs in the water-based gum where you lick-to-stick. They are all in very small dosage that is recognised as ‘legal’ quantities in pharmaceutical ranges. The effects of the drugs are varied according to individuals.
As a concept, these will be sold in regular post offices as limited edition stamp collection. The objective is to create curiosity on the connection of crime and creativity in everyday lives. How did the society decide the line between good or bad? Why? And in this case, what would you identity yourself as, had you licked these stamps?
Tick & Flick
“DESIGN AN ALARM CLOCK YOU WOULD WANT TO WAKE UP TO.” - CLIENT PROJECT WITH FRENCH COMPANY LEXON.
How many times have you set an alarm, but failed to be woken up by it? Research shows the majority of people have replaced conventional alarm clocks with their cellphone for the convenience to set up and to turn off.
However, the use of snooze button affects how our brain determine when to wake up, which creates the recurring scenes of “I didn’t hear my alarm.”
Tick is inspired by the ticking sound of a metronome. It will slowly begin to beat 5 minutes before set-up time, every minute less will lead to the next acceleration and volume of sound, until the time has come to be awaken, when it can be turned off simply by a flick of your finger.
